His long novel “Veyi Padagalu” was awarded a prize in the competition held by Andhra Viswakala Parished
Hindi translation of "Veyi Padagalu” (Sahasra phan) rendered by P.V. Narsimha Rao was also awarded a prize by Uttar Pradesh Government.
“Vishwanatha madhyakkaralu” (collection of poems) also received the central Sahitya Academy Award.
He was honoured many a number of times for his alround achievement in literature in the home state as well as the neighbouring states.
He was honoured by all the literary stalwarts with the title of repute “Kavi Samarat”
He was honoured by “Padma Bhushan” by the Government of India (1970)
He was made Poet Laureate of Andhra Pradesh in 1970.
He was also a recipient of the titles ”Kalaprapurna” by the Andhra University and ‘D.Litt’ by Sree Venkateswara University
Another feather in his cap was the “Fellowship” awarded by the State Sahitya Academy as well as the Central Sahitya Academy which was a credit to those academies themselves.
The felicitations he received all over the nation are beyond count.
OTHER APPRECIATIONS
Sri Sri, the pioneer of Progressive Poetry, referred to him as “Gold Nib of Telugu”.
