The primary objective of the "Peetham" is to acquaint more people with Viswanatha's genius and Works by organizing such literary and cultural meets and activities as may be needed. 

To establish a library with books by and on Viswanatha, including audio video material, letters, radio talks and the like to facilitate the research work of scholars doing research on Viswanatha, and also to arrange such guidance and counselling as may be needed by the research scholars. 

To encourage translations of Viswanatha's works into other languages. 

To institute an award namely "Viswanatha Sahitya Puraskar" to be given annually to an eminent writer in Telugu adjudged as such by the jury constituted for the purpose and to felicitate him / her with a purse and a citation. 

To start a quarterly by name "JAYANTHI " to publish literary views and reviews, award winning stories , poems and articles by holding competitions, seminars, book reviews etc. 

To conduct cultural programs once a year in one of the regions of Andhra Pradesh namely Coastal Andhra, Telangana and Rayalaseema adopting Viswanatha's Sahitya for the purpose. 

To hold a seminar once a year on one of the literary aspects of Viswanatha. 

To hold an essay writing competition once a year on one of Viswanatha's literary aspects and to award prizes on Viswanatha's birthday. 

To hold a meeting once a month at Hyderabad or at any other place to discuss about one of the books of Viswanatha. 

To help to establish a Deemed University namely "Kavisamrat Viswanatha Satyanarayana Deemed University for Cultural Studies" at Hyderabad. 

To represent for installation of ''Viswanatha's'' statue along side the statues of eminent personalities at the Tank Bund, Hyderabad. 

To arrange a Viswanatha Memorial Lecture by an eminent scholar every year on his birthday. For the purpose of achieving the above objectives a literary and cultural organization namely "Viswanatha Sahitya Peetham" for the promotion of Viswanatha's Thought and Literature is constituted. A committee namely "The Committee for the formation of Kavisamrat Viswanatha Satyanarayana Deemed University for Cultural Studies" and also an Advisory Board are constituted to take necessary steps for the purpose.
