Sri Viswanatha Satyanarayana was born towards the end of 19th century. Many famous poets and litterateurs of the 20th century like Sri Katuri Venakateswara Rao and Adavi Bapi Raju were also born during this period. Sri Viswanatha Satyanarayana was born to Sri Shobhanadri and Smt. Parvati Devi in Nandamuru Village, Gannavaram Taluka, Krishna Dist., Andhra Pradesh. He was born in the year 1875 on September 10th. This coincides with the year ‘Manmatha’, the month of ‘Bhadrapada’, 6th day of the waning phase of the moon according to the Telugu almanac. Sri Viswanatha was a great believer in astrology like his Guru Chellapilla Venkata Sastry. He believed that human life was controlled by the planetary movements and positions. 

Viswanatha’s father Sri Sobhanadri was a philanthropist and a devotee of Lord Shiva. In 1902, he brought an idol of Shiva Linga from Benares and constructed a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in Nandamuru. Thus, Lord Sri Visweswara became their family Deity. The purification of the temple’s dome was performed by the parents of Sri viswanatha Satyanarayana.
